Small Pox Subside. Covington Family Recovery
William Wilkinson and his family five miles east of Covington, and a half mile north of the Lloyd Bay farm, have recovered from small pox after exposure by a Virginia hired man last winter. The Wilkinson household including four children and Mrs. Wilkinson’s mother are out of danger but must stay indoors about two more weeks as advised by their physician.

Horrible Death Near Merlott Widow Mrs Harriett Jones
Mrs Harriett Jones eighty two or seventy two? died at her home two miles south of Merlott Friday about 11 am while burning trash in her orchard. Her clothes caught fire and she ran to a well to fetch water but perished beside the well as neighbors found her still burning. She lived with her son Bert Jones who was away.

In Memoriam Deborah Fleetwood Bryant
Obituary recalls Deborah Fleetwood Bryant born June 10 1823 Washington DC. She moved to Williamsport Indiana in 1845 with her family and survived by children Robert Chandler Dorcas Joseline Smith Rose Ella Smith and Henry Chandler plus stepfamily. She married Robert A Chandler in 1849 and Rev George Warner in 1870. Active in church and women’s missions, she died April 6 1905 in Williamsport with funeral held April 1905.
