Polk County honors long-serving 4-H leaders with Clover awards
Polk County 4-H leaders receive Award of the Clover pins for 20 or more years of service. Ellen Jepsen of Luck earns a 30-year ruby pin, Howard Sievert of Osceola and Arno Dittbrenner of Balsam Lake receive 25-year emerald pins, Elmer Berg of Cushing and Willard Johnson of Milltown earn 20-year diamond pins. Berg and Johnson also will be recognized further.

Trempealeau County 4 Hers to be honored at event
Trempealeau County 4 Hers will be honored at the annual achievement night in Whitehall on Oct 4 at Sunset Memorial Auditorium. The program includes 1981 4 H boy and girl awards, project-area prizes, and leadership recognitions. Twenty years of service certificates were awarded, with alumni and meritorious service honors also announced.

Dairy Goat Offered to Pierce 4-Hers by Augie Acres
Pierce County 4-H members may apply for a registered dairy goat project from Augie Acres. Essays must explain why they want the goat and be under 250 words. The recipient must breed the goat to a registered buck and donate the first kid. Essays due Oct. 12. winner announced Oct. 17 at Prescott High School. Augie Acres previously donated a goat in 1980 to Heidi Hungerford.

1981-82 Chippewa County 4-H trip and award applications
Applications are being accepted for 1981 82 Chippewa County 4 H sponsored trips and awards. Any county 4 H member age 14 by Jan 1 1982 may apply. Applications are at the county extension office and due Oct 5 with record books and recommendations. Interviews Oct 31 select delegates and alternates for the year. 1982 trips include State 4 H Congress an exchange to Huntingdon County Pa and Citizenship Washington Focus. Five youths will attend Western District awards conference Nov 9 10 leading to National 4 H Congress delegates national 4 H conference participants and national leadership training program. Three Key Award winners will be chosen from county interviews.
