Musky hatcheries report reduced fingerling crop this year
Cold weather and pollen contamination cut musky fingerling production at Spooner and Woodruff state hatcheries. Foreman John Bush says about 20,000 fingerlings were raised at Spooner on about 4 percent survival, far below normal 15 to 30 percent. Woodruff expects about 20,000 fingerlings as well, with overall stocking down from past years.

Salt Licks and Hunting Quiet Rules
Salt placed in fields or pastures for livestock counts as a salt lick. Hunters planning to hunt in such areas should remove the salt and any soil residue before hunting. Baiting restrictions do not forbid hunting over bait materials from natural vegetation or normal agricultural practices.
