Cow-Calf Day Set At UW Lancaster Sept 24
UW-Lancaster Experiment Station hosts the annual Cow-Calf Day on September 24. The program runs from 9:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with talks on feeder cattle economics, USDA beef grade changes, rations and marketing outlets, plus hay storage, cow body condition scoring, daylight calving, and birdsfoot trefoil. Luncheon at noon has a fee. proceedings copies are provided free by the Wisconsin Beef Council.

St Croix dairy recognition banquet set for Oct 26
The 28th annual St Croix County dairy recognition banquet will be held October 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Building in Baldwin. Baldwin Booster Club leads this year’s event with trophy honors for all standard test herds producing 594 pounds of butterfat or more as of April 1981, recognizing herds meeting county standards. Bill and Cindy Schultz of Roberts headline the list with 21,432 pounds of milk and 804 pounds of butterfat from 30 cows.
