Wisconsin Moisture Improves Across State in Late August
Rainfall covered most of Wisconsin last week bringing moisture to adequate levels in 77 percent of reporting areas while 19 percent remained short and 4 percent surplus. The 1982 corn crop was 61 percent in the dough stage and 17 percent dented as of August 29, below the ten year average. Growing degree days averaged 95 percent of normal since April 1 with west central Wisconsin reporting above average accumulation.
