Holstein linear classification workshops planned in Wisconsin
The National Holstein Association will run seven educational workshops across Wisconsin to explain the new linear classification system replacing the descriptive coding method effective January 1, 1983. Area III Manager Neil Hammerschmidt notes the shift will improve accuracy in transmitting dairyman profiles. Sessions include September 8 at UW Ashland farm and Jim Landmark farm near Cumberland, September 10 near Marshfield, and September 17 at Richard Ray farm in Dorchester, with more sites in west central Wisconsin.
