Nomination Deadline Nears for ASCS Committee Elections
The ASCS announces a November 2 deadline to file nomination papers for community committeemen at county ASCS offices. Elections will be by mail from November 27 to December 7, with follow up conventions and potential three year terms for incumbents. Petitions must include the candidate’s signature and three eligible farm voter signatures. Farmers may circulate or sign for multiple candidates and should contact their county ASCS office for forms. If fewer than five candidates exist, the county committee will complete the slate. Community defined as a township or cluster of townships based on farm numbers.
