AMPI to Invest 1 Million in Abbotsford Cheese Plant
AMPI Mid-States Region plans a 1 million dollar remodel of the Abbotsford Wisconsin cheese plant, boosting capacity to about 850000 pounds of milk daily and expanding output. The project aims to raise production by roughly 60 percent, with production levels fluctuating as Grade A milk is diverted to cheese. Bill Lenschow, AMPI vice president, warned against immediate adoption of protein pricing, stressing the price support system remains essential for steady supply and affordable consumer dairy products.
