Barron County 4-Hers win awards at high school program
Barron County honored its 4-Hers at a Barron High School awards program. Students received recognition for overall and project records, with graduating 4-Hers honored and several special awards announced. Scrapsbooks earning state honors included Rice Lake Rockets and Meadowlarks. leadership and secretary awards were given to multiple clubs and leaders such as Jill Demers and Cathy Frandsen.

Weight control program planned at Sacred Heart Hospital
A six week series titled A Positive Approach to Weight Control will begin Monday October 30 at 7 30 p m in Treacy Hall Eau Claire. Dr L H Frase and dietitians Ceil Sime Kathy Thompson and Kathy Niceswanger will teach nutrition, food groups, calories, exercise and budgeting with a $15 materials charge and a 20 person limit.
