Marshfield field day canceled due to wet fields
The UW Marshfield Experimental Farm’s first tillage field day planned for Oct 20 is called off because fields are too wet for equipment demonstrations. Farm manager Garit Tenpas said access is impossible and dealers agree. If weather improves, farmers will likely harvest corn instead, so the event moves to next year.

Corn eligible for grain reserve program
Agriculture Secretary John Block announced that this year's corn and barley can go directly into the 1981 grain reserve to relieve fall price pressure. Producers may enter 1980 crop grain from regular CCC loans, with storage payments of 26.5 cents per bushel, 14 percent interest first year, a trigger price of about 3.15 dollars, and release when market price meets or exceeds it.
