Farmers urged to learn soil stewardship in ecumenical group
A rural Wisconsin effort led by Gordon Adams and parish laity from Holy Cross Lutheran and St. John's Catholic Church forms the Stewardship Education and Action Committee Stewards of the Heartland to promote soil stewardship amid fears of later land restricting laws. The group, drawn from farmers across Glenwood City and nearby towns Ellsworth and Ridgeland, met weekly and studied Catholic and Protestant writings on land care and agrarian reform.
