Wisconsin musky hearings reveal broad support for 34 inch minimum size
Wisconsin voters in 71 counties backed establishing a 34 inch minimum size on muskies in select lakes. They mostly opposed motor trolling bans and a four muskies bag limit, while wide support existed for using large caliber handguns for deer hunting and for keeping bass seasons unchanged. A minority opposed delayed bass seasons and the 18 inch May limit.

Feeder Birds Return to Yard for Spring Feeding
In mid April the author notes a shift from storage to lively bird activity. Purple finches, house sparrows, mourning dove, pine siskins, and evening grosbeaks flock the feeder, with siskins and grosbeaks increasing to 20 to 30 daily. Warblers, including palm, Nashville, yellow warblers and Wilsons, appear in open areas and near water. The piece ends inviting readers to watch mixed flocks through May and promoting local ornithology contact with Mr. Robbins in Medford and Eau Claire.
