Crooks Convert Flock to Registered Sheep Use
The Crooks describe their sheep operation, starting as orchard mowers twelve years ago and gradually converting two thirds to registered animals. They now have about 32 ewes and sell most lambs privately as finished meat while the children Shelby and Anin exhibit at fairs. The remaining animals are marketed through the Equity lamb pool in Monroe.

Surprise Award and Early Lambing Plans for Roembke Hamps
The Roembke family of Wisconsin report completion of lambing with only a few stragglers at the Wisconsin Sheep Cooperative convention. They breed for January and early February lambing to capture higher market prices and maximize growth for show stock. Mrs. Roembke notes plans to shift to later lambing as the show season winds down, though she sees little difference for the flock.
