A recipe duo creates a pineapple upside down cake with praline topping and chocolate whipped cream. The cake layers use pineapple slices, brown sugar, butter, and eggs, baked at 350 degrees. A separate chocolate whipped cream finishes the dessert, served warm.
The Bloomer Hospital Auxiliary sponsors a spring charity ball at Pines Ballroom on March 27 starting at 9 p.m. The Frankie Switzer Band plays 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Free hors d'oeuvres and champagne punch, drawings for free dinner for two, and tickets priced five dollars in advance or five fifty at the door. Tickets available at the hospital Pines Ballroom Ed's Pharmacy or from auxiliary members. Proceeds fund a new birthing bed for the hospital.
An exhibit of student artwork from seven Chippewa Falls elementary schools is on display at the Chippewa Falls Public Library through March 30. Sponsored by the elementary art department of Chippewa Falls Public Schools, the show invites the public to view the collection.
The Shape Shop at Luther Hospital begins a spring program March 29. The eight Monday evening sessions are for students in grades two through 12, combining education with fun to help youths manage weight. For more information call 839-3148.
