A USDA official states the milk support price rises to 9.20 dollars, up 0.41 from 8.79 per 3.5 milk. The new level sits just over 81 percent of parity, with inventories rising and plants holding stocks, suggesting farmers may see little or no rise in May pay periods. The next price review is scheduled for October under the 1977 Farm Bill linking milk costs to the Prices Paid index.
