States watch national dairy referendum this summer
Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and Minnesota Dairy Promotion Council heed a national dairy promotion referendum. The 5 cent state checkoff and 10 cent national checkoff fund marketing programs with the option to return the second nickel to states. Minnesota could lose about 65 percent of its funds if defeated, affecting its budget and promotions.
