Cadott couple earns Outstanding Young Farmer honor
Tom and Diane Woodford of rural Fall Creek received the Cadott Area Jaycees Outstanding Young Farmer award for building a dairy herd and weathering major losses from 1980 and 1981 hail. Woodford, a former Cadott High School attendee, improved cow production to about 17 576 pounds of milk and 652 pounds of butterfat while expanding facilities and managing 259 acres. He plans no major expansion, cites cautious finances, and uses mixed forage with 20 pounds of hay daily. The award marks the Cadett chapter’s second OYF honor, with donations topping $4,000 and strong local sponsorship.
