Senate panel to hold public hearing on farm bills
The Wisconsin Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee will hold a public hearing Thursday at the Eau Claire County Courthouse to consider bills on agricultural collective bargaining, transferring SWCD duties to the agriculture department, and shielding farming from nuisance claims. Also listed are labeling for ice cream and a possible beginning farmer loan program, with comments invited on other farm issues. Senator Thomas Harnisch leads efforts to broaden the committee’s farm agenda.
