Mormon Farmers Set Aside Two Year Reserve On Farm
The Marlows, two full time Mormon farmers near Eau Claire and Barron, maintain a two year supply of food and water for family and livestock as a core practice. They store 2000 gallons of water and 100 pound drums of sugar wheat salt honey and powdered milk. They dig ponds for water, rent land, and plan silos and storage to weather droughts and emergencies. They also apply tithing to farm assets and plan to donate ten percent of any profit from future sale.
