Seed starting guide for New Jersey gardeners with Terri Gabriell

Seed starting in New Jersey centers on indoor sowing for four to eight weeks before outdoor planting. Start cool weather crops now, with April outdoor sowing for cabbage, broccoli and lettuce, and later for tomatoes and peppers. Use sterile medium, proper watering, light, and temperature to prevent damping off, then transplant to richer soil as plants mature. Terri Gabriell invites reader letters to Box 94 Ringoes NJ 08551.
