Buffalo County 4-H Foods Revue Winners Named
Buffalo County held its 1978 Favorite Foods Revue with 4-H members entering a variety of dishes. Diane Johnson notes it teaches food preparation and meal planning while Judy Rommel judged. Patricia Rippley of the Golden Hornets won a Foley Manufacturing Co. utensil award for outstanding work in food preparation. Winners were named across categories.

County tour to Duluth by bus train and harbor cruise
The St. Croix County Extension Office sponsors a Duluth day tour on July 17 open to any interested person. Pickup at Ericksons New Richmond 6 30 a m with stops at Roberts Cafe 6 45 a m and Hudson House 7 a m, train from St Paul at 7 50 a m, coffee on board, arrival Duluth 11 35 a m, lunch at Radisson Pavilion, quarter chicken wild rice stuffing, cruise for two hours, Skyline Drive tour, return by 6 7 p m. Cost 31 dollars per person includes transit meals and cruise. Pre registration by July 1.

Pressure canner testing planned in Clark County
The Clark County Extension Office will run two canner testing clinics in July to check dial gauges for accuracy. Sessions at Clark Electric Auditorium Greenwood and Neillsville courthouse auditorium run July 6 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 3 p.m. Morgan Plaza Thorp and Abbotsford City Hall offer July 7 sessions with similar times. Bring only the canner cover. USDA bulletins and a safe canning film will be available.
