Farm preservation program offers boosted tax credits
Farmers have until June 30 to file for farm preservation agreements and qualify for 1978 income tax credits. Dr Richard Barrows notes amendments to the Farmland Preservation Act raise credits by 48 percent overall, with larger gains for some. An example shows a family with $15,000 new farm income and $14,500 in taxes and wages could rise from 867 to 2920 in credit.
