Penalties for inaccurate setaside acres in Wisconsin
Spring planting nears completion and area farmers in the 1978 setaside program are urged to report idle acres and crop totals to their county ASCS office. A Washington penalty directive targets inaccurate corn and setaside data, risking cash penalties, removal from the program for errors over ten percent, and ineligibility for disaster payments and CCC loans. Chippewa County ALCS chief Bill Dueholm urges farmers to secure accurate measurements.
