Alcohol fuel co op faces uphill battle in Wisconsin
River Falls farmer John Swenson leads Golden Star Products Co op seeking to fund and build a 1 million gallon per year alcohol fuel plant on a 40 acre site in St Croix County. Despite low funding, permits exist and plans include gasifying corn cobs and using waste materials. Swenson envisions a network of community plants to supply energy, with a full time manager needed to advance production and fundraising efforts.
