Hobby helps Strum to bloom across Halvorson farm

Don Halvorson, 34, farms 250 acres with his brother Richard near Strum in Trempealeau County. While dairy, beef, and crops occupy most days, his evenings and Sundays are reserved for tending 200 rose varieties and 465 iris and lilies, a hobby that brings emotional lift and local fame as a lily growing champion. He also keeps Morgan horses and studies farm life, balancing work with his flowering beds.
