Farmland preservation board allows most Clark County appeals
The state Agricultural Lands Preservation Board voted 5 0 to enroll seven of eight Clark County farms in the Farmland Preservation Program despite local county board denials. The rejected eighth, Ralph Jungbluth, had sought 790 acres with only 40 enrolled, which the state board upheld. The decision marks the first time the state board acted on appeals and also confirmed one Wood County application, while noting Wisconsin’s Clark County has the only blanket rejections to date. The meeting also appointed James Johnson as director of the program and named Pam Wiley as assistant director.
