Soil conservation air tour planned near Hager City
The 1981 soil conservation air tour will be held at the Red Wing Minnesota airport near the Pierce County community on July 18 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flights reach 25 miles for $9, 25 to 30 miles for $11, with pilots from the area under FAA rules. Pepin and Wabasha counties join for farm overflights. Lunch by a 4 H club. More details from the Soil Conservation Service office in Ellsworth or the Pierce County Extension Office.

Paulson vows to keep county lime pits open in two counties
Amery Republican State Rep. David Paulson says he will continue backing county lime pits in Barron and Polk counties. He accuses Rep. Adult Showmanship Contest at Eau Claire County Fair
The Eau Claire County Junior Holstein Breeders Association sponsors its second annual adult showmanship contest during the Eau Claire County Junior Fair on July 19. The event starts at 12 30 p.m. on the fairground with three divisions for 4-H and FFA parents and leaders, non 4 H participants, and golden age contestants. Prizes will be awarded and animals plus equipment are provided, requiring no preregistration.
