Fountain City raiser Mike Fogel returned from the National Western Stock Show in Denver with two reserve championships at the third annual buffalo show and sale.
A two year old bull and a bull calf were named reserve champions while a heifer calf placed third. Mr Fogel sold the 2 year old bull for 850 to a Colorado rancher and both calves to a Hawaii broker for 1300 and 1600. Calves are testing in Kansas before shipment to Hawaii. They will be flown to Hawaii. a year ago buyers ships purchases. A barn ventilation workshop is planned for Feb 2 led by Ted Brevik with preregistration at the Polk County Extension Office.
The Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey seeks groundwater heat pump owners to report unit type problems estimated energy savings and installers.
