Farm builders tour highlights dairy facility innovations
The 10th annual farm builders conference in Eau Claire included a tour of eight area farms led by Ted Brevik from UW Madison. Builders visited Bohlinger, Drinkman, Radle, Whitney, Goulet, Custer Farms, Cooke, Shiffer, and Winger operations to study new calf and heifer barns, free stall systems, prefabricated walls, solar panels, and manure handling. County agents and UW staff assisted, featuring a mix of insulated precast panels, vertical silos, and redesigned farmstead layouts following recent storms.
