Mulder warns FCS bailout not helping Wisconsin farmers
At a December 10 meeting Leland Mulder Wisconsin Farmers Union president said federal Farm Credit System reform will not ease farm income problems and questioned benefits for farmers noting the system's trouble stems from farmers finances. An ag leaders panel raised concerns about local control and loan restructuring and urged targeted support with lower interest rates.

Prices Rise at Sparta Hay Sale Despite Low Tons Sold
The second quality tested hay sale at Sparta on Dec 9 drew a larger crowd but only 23 tons were offered. Prices averaged $113 per ton for 23 tons with hay testing 18.24 percent crude protein and a feed value of 121.62. A straw load sold for $1.75 per bale. other lots ranged from $90 to $130 per ton with CP from 16 to 19.6 percent and feed values 117.3 to 131.2. Next sales set for Jan 8 at Ettrick and Jan 13 at Equity in Sparta.
