Government purchases would prop up prices at 11.60 per hundredweight with a 25 cent cut in 1987 and potential further cuts if surplus persists. Financing includes a 40 cent per hundredweight farmer assessment dropping to 25 cents in 1987. The agreement aims to revive exports and aid hard pressed farmers while stockpiled nonfat dry milk cheese and butter remain costly to store.
