Man fined for killing moose in Wisconsin case
A Superior man, Jack E. Povaser, 46, forfeited over 640 dollars in penalties for killing a protected moose during the deer season. He paid a 452.50 bond, 190 more in fines, had his rifle seized, and hunting privileges revoked for a year. The state warden noted the incident as rare, with moose populations peaking in the 1960s and declining since. The moose carcass yielded 40 dollars in meat.
