Barron farmer pioneers three sided milking parlor system
Ridgeland farmer Gene Knutson installs the first three sided fully automated Trigon milking parlor in Wisconsin east of Denver. The 12 stall triangular system with computer printouts will milk about 150 cows in two hours, cutting time from two and a half hours, with open house this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors will see automatic gates, feed bowls, udder massagers, and individual cow rations managed via on stall panels and a central computer.

Wisconsin Town Mutuals Told to Pay Dividends
Sixteen of Wisconsin's 128 rural town mutual fire insurers are in strong financial shape, the state insurance commissioner ordered to disclose this to policyholders. Harold Wilde urged dividend consideration now for some, with 18 more firms told to inform members dividends could be possible in the future. Three west central firms Fall Creek Mutual, Trempealeau County Mutual at Whitehall, and Farmington Mutual at Osceola were named to inform policyholders immediately. The measure marks Wisconsin's first action of its kind.
