Slaughter steers and heifers sold mostly higher or steady across Midwest terminals with Peoria and Sioux Falls exceptions. Texas Oklahoma direct trades rose, Western Kansas and Iowa Minnesota markets posted firm to higher results. Slaughter cows and bulls mixed, Holstein figures higher in spots, feeder steers and barrows showed strong demand, and direct trade remained active prior to the holiday.

Grain market reports show mixed gains on holiday week
Prices for corn and soybeans finished higher while wheat mostly rose across markets. Minneapolis spot corn advanced to $1.50 with December bids at $1.51, soybeans at $4.87 delivered and $4.85 bid, and spring wheat easing to $3.02 per bushel. Demand remained light with lower sunflower bids and modest Gulf activity, as analysts noted Egypt's planned import of white wheat boosting futures.
