Aerial pesticide firm fined in Marquette County drift case

Allied Helicopter Service Inc of Tulsa Oklahoma was fined 200 by Marquette County Court after a June 1980 drift incident onto a residential yard and improper use of Sevimol 4 on cucumbers. Allen Toews Tulsa faced deferred prosecution with three months to avoid further charges.

Woman Convicted of Animal Abuse in Shell Lake

Sharon Melton, 30, a USDA licensed dog dealer from rural Shell Lake, was found guilty by a Washburn County jury on three counts of inhumane treatment of animals for failing to provide ventilation and sanitation in dog quarters. She was acquitted on two charges, including space requirements. Sentencing set for Sept 15 with potential fines up to 10,000 dollars per count.
