Spooner Sheep Day offers talks for producers at experiment farm
Spooner hosts the annual Spooner Sheep Day on August 25 with sessions on equipment breeding replacements feeding health and fencing. Speakers include UW Extension livestock specialist Dick Watthauer and UW Madison experts on nutrition health and marketing. An afternoon session features fencing ideas by Art Snell, plus a Great Lakes Wool Growers award and a meal at the farm east of Spooner. Reservations to 715-635-3735.

Feedmen's school set for September at UW Arlington
The 30th annual School for Feedmen will be held September 11 at the UW Arlington Experimental Farm. Sponsored by UW Extension and the Wisconsin Feed Seed and Farm Supply Association, the event covers NRC nutrient requirements for livestock with UW Extension swine specialist Robert Grummer guiding. N.J. Neher of the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture will discuss feed registration and laws, with main speaker W.W. Cravens on the future of the feed industry.
