RC&D backs Cameron project for wildlife area and beach
River Country RC&D approves a Cameron recreation area plan in its July meeting, the 20th measure in under two years. Coordinator Feldt notes four acres seeded in Chippewa County, a Barron County gully control structure funded federally, and Elk Creek land rights near final. Over $100,000 in federal funds will be cost-shared. Proposals include lake aeration, rehabilitation, stream protection, wildlife habitat with state and federal approval pending. Additional work covers mined area inventories and environmental learning center needs. The council plans educational programs and outlines plans for the 1978 annual meeting.
