Veteran steward retires from St. Croix County Fair after 30 years
George Steffen, longtime secretary of the St. Croix County Fair Association, retires after 30 years of service. He helped run the fair in Glenwood City, noted its growth from a three day event with about 1500 dollars in premiums to a four day fair with over 9000 dollars. Steffen said he is simply drawn by the fun of watching the fair grow and that his departure marks a change for the association while youth orientation remains.
