Pierce County 4-Hers aged 14 and up meet monthly, with the next gathering on April 20. The program on Assertiveness in Groups features Mary Garfield, UW River Falls resident director. Regular attendees include Pierce County 4-H leaders and older members interested in group dynamics.
Wisconsin 4 H leaders organize the National Junior Horticulture Association state program under UW Extension guidance led by Helen Harrison. NJHA promotes educational horticulture projects citizenship and career options for youths with national contests and state programs.
Barron County 4-H members participate in statewide music and drama groups this spring and summer. Lisa Boortz of Barron Bears 4-H earns a spot in the 1981 Wisconsin 4-H Jubilation Singers for performances at the state congress in Madison and the Wisconsin State Fair. Daren Olson and Marcia Fall are chosen for the 1981 state 4-H drama group to perform at the state 4-H congress. Rehearsals begin April 10 at the state 4-H camp in Wisconsin Dells. Judi Schmid of Rice Lake serves as chaperone for the Western District delegation. Dunn County 4-H clubs plan a Spring Festival at Thunderbird Mall in Menomonie, with crafts, animals, and livestock displays from 10 am to 4 pm.
