Eau Claire farm herd to be dispersed Monday
Eau Claire County will auction 150 head of registered Holstein cattle plus dairy equipment at the Health Care Center starting 11 a.m. next Monday, ending sixty years of county dairying. Auctioneer Sonny Bartel will sell 80 cows, 17 bred heifers, 48 open, four bulls and later sell farm machinery. The herd’s 4.4 percent test reflects long years of best breeding and farm history, with Buckley and Easterson noting pride in a home bred Holstein line. The dispersal ends a 34 year tenure, as county operations wind down and buildings are razed this spring and summer.
