Three fire companies and the hook and ladder responded Saturday night to the First Federal Savings and Loan Co Building at Main Street and Broadway. Firemen found a blaze on the outside of a gasoline tank attached to a conkey engine used for a temporary hoist. Damage was slight. Fire Chief Waldo Merrill said a carelessly tossed cigarette may have started the fire and investigated an oil soaked wad of rags with a heavy wire handle found nearby.
OQMARA Tom Findley aged 45 of 4115 South 24th Street was electrocuted Saturday at the Wilson and Company packing plant. He was dead on arrival when emergency squads reached the scene.
