Francis Choate Dies at Glenwood Pioneer Editor
Francis William Choate 81 longtime Glenwood resident and civic leader died Saturday noon at his home. He was publisher and editor of the Glenwood Opinion and later the Glenwood Tribune after consolidating the papers in 1918. He served as mayor, county auditor, and deacon, and was active in the Knights of Pythias and Masonic orders. Surviving are wife Caroline DuVal, another son Leonard in California, an in-law Hazel Choate, and two daughters in-law. funeral Tuesday at Reynor chapel with burial in Glenwood cemetery.
