Death takes mother from the Stricken West family
Belle Manuwed West, wife of a local farmer, died Tuesday morning in Porstum Hollow after weeks of typhoid fever. The West family, already poor and isolated, loses the mother who cared for three children aged 14, 18, and 20. She was about 45, born in Franklin township, Mt Zion Church member. Funeral will be Wednesday, leaving the home at 10 am for services at 12 30 pm with Rev. Roberts preaching.
