Ohio eyed G O P governor hopeful with 298 electoral votes predicted. South held firm yet Maryland New York Ohio and other states remained doubtful. Taft and Sherman seen sweeping country from sea to sea amid uncertain results.
New York voters heavily backed Republican national and state tickets, reelecting Governor Hughes and supporting Taft and Johnson. The statewide result showed strong GOP strength with Roosevelt administration endorsement, while Minnesota backed Bryan with Governor Johnson aiding a narrow win. Taft’s win noted as a national surge. The legislature in New York is expected to be Republican, ensuring a Republican successor to Senator Platt.
Reports from multiple cities show precinct results for congressional districts and state races. Key figures include Watson Marshall Landis and Joss in Indiana, Harris Harmon Meese and Goo dehnegas in Minnesota and Ohio forecasts with provisional tallies across 1472 of 4430 Ohio precincts.
