The Thousand Richest and the Wealth Gap Debate
A Cleveland Leader editorial argues against the idea that a thousand individuals hold half the nation’s wealth. It cites estimates of total U S wealth near 100 to 110 billion and questions the feasibility of fifty million per person for twenty five top earners. The piece contrasts vast wealth with rising discontent and discusses education, media, and social conditions shaping public opinion. It notes ongoing labor trust issues, tariff debates on structural steel, and the San Francisco delivery preference by steel firms.
