The city council, on the mayor's recommendation, bans card games in liquor establishments except pool and billiards. The ordinance, passed after full vote, imposes fines from ten to fifty dollars for offenses and takes effect immediately. Additional measures fund fire hoses and city prison repairs. Edwin Thacher of Chicago and Mr Crawford of Cincinnati, noted for concrete bridge work, will arrive in Coshocton to inspect the new bridge project. Their visit signals growing national interest among contractors and engineers in the proposed two bridges and related design work.

Alfa Weiss head of the Rogersville girl pitchers joins the graduation class of Ragersville High School. The commencement was moved from June 6 to June 21 to accommodate Miss Wells who will pitch a game in Dayton the day after the original date.
A runaway horse team bolted while Brillhart tried to halt it near Pitch Run. The lead mare fell and was captured. townsfolk relayed warnings by telegraph-style phones as the team dashed through streets causing chaos.
Canton May 13 Friends urged Adee Pomereno to run for Congress in the eighteenth district after a gubernatorial bid. Pomereno said his name should not be agitated and he will not be a candidate. Mayor Carlisle of Salem is the only avowed candidate. Medley pleaded guilty to intoxication but could not pay a $4 fine.
In New York on May 1 a boy named Robert Prenderbilt aged on years fell from a third floor window at 167 Street and landed in a baby carriage left on the sidewalk. His mother rushed down and found him frightened but unharmed with only a bruise on the arm from striking the fire escape. A Bellevue hospital surgeon reported no serious injuries.
Joseph Love is elected commander to succeed the late Isaac Ross. The article notes Love enlisted in Company 2 of the 43rd Regiment, served in the commissary department, and was clerk of the company in Washington. Following election, Love was installed and a Decoration Day committee was named.
Mrs Mary Lingafetter of Newark, convicted of forgery two years ago with Jodie Campbell on the bench, arrives in Coshetton seeking paroles for her husband in the state penitentiary and her son in the Mansfield reformatory. She aims to obtain signatures of judges who reviewed the cases to support parole applications.
Telegrams from Columbus report a murder attempt at 200 North Grant Avenue at about 3 am on Wednesday. Aimed at Agostino Fannarin o and his household including his father wife and five children, two sticks of dynamite were placed near the steps and door. one exploded shattering steps and windows, the second failed to ignite. No one was harmed.
In LaPorte Indiana Rev E A Schell of the Methodist church said Ray Lamphere, former Gunness place employee, gave his first confession to Rev Mr Schatt after interviews. He suggested Lamphere was innocent of all but the Hetten murder, and possibly jealous in that murder.
