Confessed He Shot Girl When Advances Refused
James F. Lincoln Jr. confessed that he beat and shot nine year old Carnal Williams after she refused his advances. He picked her up on a country road near Lolli et Illinois and drove to a side road where she cried and fled, then he fired a rifle several times. Lincoln, son of a Cleveland industrialist and father of two, was held on an open charge as doctors monitored the girl’s condition. Chicago police sought fingerprints and handwriting samples related to the Degnan case, but authorities say there is no link beyond similarities.
