Gypsies have plagued West Lafayette residents with several theft like raids. Two men entered Mrs. Stockum’s home begging and left after she gave food. Earlier raids at a hardware store prompted by rough conduct.
The June crop report shows oats at 60 3 percent of full, wheat 73 and rye 71 percent. Fruit damaged by frost drops to 43 percent of full, with Chin frit field expected very small. New grain estimates use 15 bushels per acre for wheat and 30 for a full crop, yielding 24 008 368 bushels on 1 721 030 acres planted.
Howard Miller and party viewed the body of King Edward in London. Mr Miller recalls pomp and ceremony of the royal funeral as he plans to sail to New York in June after months traveling through Palestine and the Mediterranean.
Mrs Ratbh Simpkins of 443 Wool Street died after a five week illness from cancer. Born in New Jersey she resided in Coshocton for years and left behind husband Leroy 17 and Leatrice 4. A Methodist Episcopal member, burial set at South Lawn Cemetery likely Wednesday with relatives visiting from Zanesville.
George Weatherwax aged 87 who recently sustained a fall at his home near Jlissfield suffered another fainting spell while walking across a room Sunday morning. Dr Moore of Warsaw treated him and he was reported improved Monday evening.
Markley brothers load a freight of horses from Prosser Hollow near Franklin for the Pittsburg market, with high class cob mares valued around 700 dollars. A long running feud between Wilda Newell Vansickle and George Newell and Charles Vansickle led to a tense Saturday night confrontation but no blows or legal action followed after court hearings and warnings.
Fahan Wright, 81, of near Cooperdale, who was seriously ill after a fall last week, was reported much improved last evening and able to be about his room.
Out of court accord ends suits over 20 000 feet of lumber claimed by A J Houser. Waters and Burrell had sued Kirker for 2500 in the Squires court and won, with lumber seized by Constable Graham. Hansen later sued for property and damages, but the contractors and Kirker agreed to divide the timber.
Altes Goldie Trusten, a phone operator for the Bell Telephone Company, was seized by sudden illness at the exchange Monday evening around 7 o’clock. Dr. T W Lear responded quickly and she recovered sufficiently to be taken home.
The Tribune announces it has secured publication rights for The Courage of Captain Plum by James Oliver Curweed. The tale centers on Jes Jenne Strang who founded a Mormon colony on Geaver is land near Mackinac Island and portrays a dramatic true history of Mia Life with romantic events and aerial existence of Gthautifel Marien in 618 Viensernnes.
COL Bradford, a believer in mystic signs, received a revelation from Nancy McNabb, a noted seeress. The nearly century old Bible vanished from Locust Street and then appeared on the front porch the following Saturday, just as the seeress had foreseen.

Blissfield four year old Roy Hiram son of Roy and Mrs Kern suffered a fractured arm yesterday while his mother assisted him to the floor. Mrs Kern is bedbound by illness. Dr Lepley reduced the injury.
J. U2 Winings, a West Lafayette liveryman, reported a valuable three year old mare died yesterday from indigestion. The incident highlights losses in local horse care services.
About three hundred Odd Fellows and Rebekahs from this city and around fifty from Warsaw attended the Nellie memorial Sunday afternoon. The exercises were beautiful and impressive and music was provided by the Warsaw band.
The Rev Dr Wells, aged 9, dies at his daughter’s home after two months illness from heart rheumatism and related complications. A Christian worker and former West Lafayette college president, he served multiple pastorates and civic roles, with a final return to West Lafayette. Remains from Wemberville arrive November 6 and funeral at MOP church at 2:30 p.m. Interment in Fairfield cemetery.
Mrs. Willam Love of North Third Street is mourned by the death of her sister Mrs. Sarah WeCrue formerly of Tanfield. The funeral will be conducted from the Clabourne theater. Births note: a child was born to Mr and Mrs Benjamin Clark of Franklin on Sunday.
