It was settled yesterday that the Standard Advertising Company will not remove to Columbus. The capital stock has been increased by about $14,000, which was readily subscribed to in the past few days.
County teachers are requested to address Ed L Robinsons Secretary of the Agricultural Society stating the number of pupils under twelve years of age in their school and complimentary tickets to that number for Children's Day at the Fair will be sent to the teachers for distribution.
New Bedford defeated Bloomfield in a Saturday game at Bloomfield grounds. Final line shows New Bedford 29 runs to Bloomfield 19 with multiple miscues and errors, Smith and Luke striking out, Blake and Swelly with two base hits, and Luke, Baad, Kaser listed for fielding miscues. Port Washington officiated with C. D. Luke as umpire and scorer. Time noted as eight hours.
Crispen Tredway died of heart trouble at his Bedford township home last Tuesday at age sixty one. He had been ill months, lived in the township thirty nine years, and leaves a wife, three sons, and three daughters. He was a member of the M E church at Blooming Grove. funeral services were held there yesterday conducted by Reva Gay and lang. Bound over to common pleas court was a 2,000 bond for Lang Shaeffer after a murder charge hearing. he was released after the bond was furnished. The hearing drew sympathy for Shaeffer and his family as he enters first-year high school. The Age and New York Tribune ad line included.
Ohio Wool Growers Association at Columbus adopted resolutions condemning free wool. They cite losses in flock numbers and wool prices, urge early congressional action, and call for protective duties on wool and other farm products. They urge newspapers to support agricultural claims and warn against party politicking. Also note Coxey speech at public square and a County investigation denial card from Sept 6 1895.
A Saturday picnic at St. John's Grove near Mohawk Village drew many local residents. The Mohawk Cornet Band, mixed chorus, and male quartets provided music, with contributions from Rogera of Plainfield and Oberlin College student Althea Payne. Speeches by Hon. Joseph Love and Hon. B. S. Thompson highlighted the event, and organizers plan an annual picnic.
A sad accident near Spring Mountain last Sunday evening left three year old child dead after a horse bucked from fright and kicked the youngster in Monroe township. Mr and Mrs Thomas Shepherd Jr with two children were returning from visiting in Concordia with the Shepards parents when two men in a hurry spooked the horse. The child died instantly from a crushed skull and was buried at Harmon church on Monday.
J A McCausland, a longtime Mill’s Creek farmer and bachelor, died Saturday after a three day illness at about seventy two. Known as Mac to friends, he managed farm affairs in later years and left many mourners and a single aged sister. Funeral services were held at Clark Presbyterian Church followed by burial in the Presbyterian cemetery.

Baldwin of Canton to serve until the next general election, with Jenner’s term ending February 1897. Democratic convention set for Mt. Vernon September 26 to nominate. Republican committee to determine time and place to meet in Zanesville this afternoon. County Infirmary Directors name William Wright as Superintendent for the coming year amid a scramble among applicants.
Barney Forrest of Pittsburgh and Lewis Weill of Buffalo for Union Oil visited Walhonding Valley lands between Roscoe and Warsaw to discuss test wells. A misunderstanding surfaced causing a hitch that threatens the project. If breech continues it will be fatal to the enterprise.
