Stolen bicycle recovered by owner after ride ends in arrest
Joe Thompson recovered his bicycle stolen from in front of a Hickory street feed store last Tuesday. He tracked the wheel to West Chestnut street where Charles Steele, seen intoxicated, had left it at the Stanford home. Thompson swore out a warrant for Steele’s arrest.

Arch Brown Gets a Stiff Workhouse Sentence
Archie Brown arrested after holding up Mrs Carson Edwards on South Lawn avenue. He pleaded guilty to assault and battery before Mayor Runner and received a $100 fine and 99 days in the Columbus workhouse. Chief Mapel took him to Columbus at noon.

Excavation for a new enamel plant will start Friday once plans arrive from Dubuque Iowa. Ar enixed C. N. Hoper an expert engineer and architect met RaffSpellacy officials here last week.
